The ITFA Americas Regional Chapter (AMRC) is pleased to announce its first in-person event of 2021 in wonderful New York City!
 
Transitioning to Renewable Energy in the U.S. – Can it be Done?
 
In a world increasingly alarmed by the impact of climate change, most scientists agree that the U.S. needs to transition to an energy sector with net-zero emissions.  The Biden administration has set ambitious clean-energy targets.  However, with the country’s heavy reliance on fossil fuels for power, can this really be accomplished?  A transition to Renewable Energy in the U.S. is not as simple as building more wind and solar farms, but instead requires an extraordinary transformation in all facets of the energy supply – from Production to Transmission and Storage.  What are the obstacles that stand in the way, and how are these challenges best tackled?  Who are the key stakeholders to lead this transformation?  How can we best transition to a net-zero energy system that is robust with universal access while supporting a strong energy economy?  What is the role of the current energy companies and what are they doing?  What cutting edge technology is around the corner that might change the picture?

Non-Members fee: $100.00 per person on a first come first served basis (paid in advance only). Register
