Tour of Lloyds Insurance building, London – organised by NERC

ITFA is delighted to advise its members that NERC is organizing a series of formal tours of Lloyd’s of London on Thursday the 17th of March.

For those who don’t know, Lloyd’s of London, generally known simply as Lloyd’s, is an insurance market located in the City of London. Unlike most of its competitors in the industry, it is not a company but rather is a corporate body governed by the Lloyd’s Act of 1871 and subsequent Acts of Parliament. Lloyd’s serves as a partially mutualised marketplace within which multiple financial backers come together to pool and spread risk. These underwriters, or “members”, are a collection of both corporations and private individuals, the latter being traditionally known as “Names” and is very interesting to see in person.

This is a unique opportunity for those who have not been able to visit Lloyd’s to be able to see it from the inside and if you are able to catch the earlier tour you will be able to see it in action while the underwriters are still at their desks.

The 1 hour tours will be allocated on a first come first serve basis and will run at 15:15, 16:15 and 17:15.

Drinks and nibbles will be provided between 17:00 and 19:00 at “One Under Lime” which is opposite Lloyd’s compliments of ITFA.

This event is for members only and depending on interest, we may need to restrict the event to one person per institution. If you are interested you are kindly requested to copy and paste the below table on an email and forward the information to info@itfa.org by latest 01st March 2016.
