ITFA SERC Educational Event, Spain, Madrid – 6 June 2024

Contributed by the ITFA Southern Europe Regional Committee (SERC)

The International Trade & Forfaiting Association Board, in collaboration with Banco Santander, invited over 120 attendees from more than 40 trade-related companies, including banks, investors, credit insurance companies, insurance brokers, fintechs, law firms, and educational institutions, to the ITFA’s Southern European Regional Committee (SERC) educational day. This event took place on June 6, 2024, at Santander’s headquarters in Spain.

The event was introduced by the host and featured insights from ITFA on its latest initiatives. Four panels covered key trade finance topics: the macro environment, prepayments in structured trade as a new working capital solution, the benefits and challenges of credit insurance, and updates on regulations regarding working capital products.

The objective of this event was to provide a forum for open discussion on current challenges and opportunities, as well as innovations and ideas related to the distribution of trade-related financing activities. It featured experienced and senior trade finance practitioners and strengthened ties among stakeholders from all over Europe.

If you couldn’t attend, we hope to see you at a future SERC event, such as the upcoming one in Athens on June 20.

We warmly thank Banco Santander for welcoming the ITFA community to their premises in Madrid and look forward to continuing our close cooperation in the future.

ITFA SERC – Trade Finance Networking Cocktail, Paris, 30 May 2024

Contributed by the ITFA Southern Europe Regional Committee (SERC)

The first Parisian event organized by the ITFA South Europe Regional Committee took place on the 30th May, 2024 in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, bringing together 48 participants from 26 different institutions, including banks, insurers, multilaterals, and fintech’s. All players in Trade and Supply Chain were present for a moment of exchange and conviviality.

This event was made possible thanks to the support of ITFA, which sponsored the integrity of the event. It had been over 5 years since there had been a trade event bringing together the Parisian Community.

We had the pleasure to welcome people from London and Vienna.

It is also a good way for ITFA to promote its works and federate new players to join the association. Almost 75% of the represented institutions were ITFA members.
