Squire Patton Bloggs joins DNI Initiative

Squire Patton Bloggs has decided to join ITFA’s DNI Initiative to engage with the wider trade finance community on trade digitisation and adoption of MLETR.

Robert Parson, Partner, Squire Patton Boggs (UK) LLP explains the DNI membership decision: “Digitisation of negotiable instruments has great potential to increase trade finance flows at a time when tackling the widening trade finance gap affecting poorer nations must be a priority for the international trade market. The DNI initiative is bringing together the key stakeholders who can make a difference in accelerating that goal and has our full support”.

“I am delighted to welcome Robert and the Squire Patton Boggs team to our global community of trade experts driving the global adoption of MLETR-compliant trade instruments.”, says André Casterman, Chair Fintech Committee, ITFA. “As financial institutions start embracing new technologies and legal frameworks to digitise negotiable instruments, the legal expertise on MLETR is of paramount importance to ensure compliance with applicable laws.”

The DNI Initiative is one of ITFA’s strategic market initiatives which has established the most specialised community of technology firms, law firms, corporates, financial institutions, and policy stakeholders committed to digitise trade flows as per UNCITRAL MLETR-compatible laws and ITFA’s dDOC specifications.
