On the 10th October 2018, the ITFA Insurance Committee held another interesting seminar in Paris with about 70 attendees. In four short presentations, underwriters and brokers led the audience through the different options banks have to mitigate their risks originated from trade finance and transaction banking through cooperation with insurance companies. The speakers were; Silja Calac – ITFA Head of Insurance Relations and Treasurer, Benjamin Gibbons – Miller Insurance Services LLP, Olga Berlinskaya – AIG, Isabelle Girardet – Euler Hermes, Andrew van den Born – Willis Towers Watson and Luc Reuter – HCC International Insurance Company Plc.
This was followed by a very lively panel discussion where two bankers; Lise Kessler from CA-CIB and Lorna Pillow from LFC, challenged the four speakers. The seminar was then concluded by an update on Brexit and other regulatory and legal issues delivered by Carol Searle from Texel and Geoff Wynne from Sullivan & Worcester. The participants had thereafter the opportunity to do some networking at the cocktail reception.
We would like to thank CA-CIB for hosting this event in particular Stéphane Gonon and Naeem Khan, all the speakers for their excellent presentations and the audience for their active and engaged participation during the discussions.
The presentations and the photos can be found online on the ITFA website.
