| On November 11th 2022, we informed you about the mission entrusted to Paris Europlace by the French Government to accelerate the digitisation of international trade finance operations, which aims to encourage businesses active in importing and exporting, and their financers to move towards the digitisation of international trade finance procedures. We now have the immense pleasure to share the outcome of this programme which delivered insights from 100+ interviews, offered multiple technology discovery sessions, produced a mapping of 200+ tradetech vendors as well as the DNI blueprint. The Paris Europlace report also includes a detailed trade advocacy document and the proposed legal changes required to align with MLETR. The report includes 9 recommendations organized around 4 themes for public authorities to consider: – To align French law to MLETR to facilitate use of digital negotiable instruments (DNIs) – To promote the Tradetech ecosystem – To involve institutional stakeholders in the growth of cross-border trade finance – To increase the attractiveness of the trade finance sector. We wish to thank Paris Europlace for inviting ITFA to support this strategic effort, and we warmly thank the members of the DNI initiative which contributed to, and influenced, this French project since initial start in March 2022.
