Brown Brothers Harriman & Co.
Brown Brothers Harriman (“BBH”) is a bank that was founded in 1818 as a private partnership. Today, we continue to be owned and operated by our General Partners. While we are headquartered in New York, BBH is a global firm with approximately 6,000 employees in 17 offices worldwide. We have three primary lines of business: Private Banking, Investment Management and Investor Services.
Our roots are in international commodity trade finance: BBH was a commodities merchant in the 1800’s before transitioning into a bank. Today, our Private Banking line of business provides capital and advice to private businesses and their owners, many of whom are in the international commodities trading industry. We regularly provide working capital financing to traders of energy, metals and agricultural products.
