This webinar is to launch the results of the ITFA’s work on ESG reporting, regulations, capital requirements and the implications for trade and trade finance. The research consists of a global regulatory review, a series of around 30 semi-structured interviews and a questionnaire survey of ITFA members. It will look at the ESG regulatory reporting requirements coming from Basel III, the European Banking Authority, Prudential Regulatory Authority and emerging regulations in the US, Japan and around the globe and assess how these are affecting ITFA members’ capital allocations and day-to-day behaviours in their trade businesses. It will use the results to make some recommendations about how ITFA can best represent the sector’s interests with regulators and other representative associations through advocacy, education and further research.
The session will be an exciting opportunity to interrogate the findings of the research and to get involved in the ITFA’s ESG committee’s work as it develops.
The webinar will be chaired by Johanna Wissing, Head of ITFA ESG Committee and will be structured as follows:
12:30 – 12:40 – ITFA welcome and introduction – why the research was commissioned
12:40 – 12:55 – Rebecca Harding – research findings and implications
12:55 – 13:20 – Panel discussion on results
13:20 – 13:50 – Q&A
13:50 – 14:00 – ITFA wrap up and next steps
In our panel discussion we are happy to welcome Sean Edwards (ITFA Chairman/SMBC), Lorna Pillow (ITFA Board/LFC) and Charlie Bronks (Crown Agents Bank). More speakers to be confirmed.
