ITFA EMERGING LEADERS – COMMUNITY SURVEY + CALL FOR APPLICATIONS, Dec 2021

2021 marked another successful year for the ITFA Emerging Leaders Initiative. Despite the ongoing pandemic situation, we completed another round of the Martin Ashurst Mentorship Scheme, which connects Emerging Leaders with a pool of global experts and leaders in trade. The scheme allows Emerging Leaders to discuss their career and career path, industry positioning, and insights into the different areas of trade finance.

We also ran the ITFA Emerging Leader of the Year competition for the third year in a row. The competition offers emerging talent in the trade finance industry a chance to showcase their ideas and work for the benefit of the industry through the submission of projects related to trade finance. The three shortlisted candidates were offered the chance to attend the ITFA Annual Conference and showcase their submissions as part of the main conference programme. Georgina Stevens of J.P. Morgan won this year’s competition with her project ESG Educate.

Finally, we hosted several well-attended webinars, including two that focused on early career advancement and soft skills led by Marilyn Blattner-Hoyle of Swiss Re, and we continued our engagement with leading universities across the world.

Call for Applications – Emerging Leaders Committee

The Emerging Leaders Initiative is run by the EL Committee, which consists of a small group of dedicated volunteers from across the trade finance industry. As our Initiative continues to grow, we would like to expand our committee with one additional member. The new committee member would get involved with our Events Planning activities alongside other members of the committee.
