As part of ITFA’s outreach to African financial institutions, the Africa Regional Committee is hosting a series of webinars aimed at financial professionals working in Africa. These webinars will explore topical issues in trade, as well as the basics of trade finance, with insights and learnings drawn from ITFA’s network of experts.
The first two webinars in this series will take place on Tuesday March 28th, as follows:
10:00-11:00 West Africa Time: Webinar 1, ‘Sustainable trade finance and African trade: Giving an African voice to evolving standards on sustainable trade’.
In this webinar, hosted by Tedd George (Kleos Advisory), we will explore the findings of the ITFA White Paper on sustainable trade finance and African trade and discuss its calls to action with an expert panel involving George Wilson (Investec & ARC Chair), Anne-Marie Woolley (African Global Trade Finance) and Edmund Bala-Gbogbo (Afreximbank). This will be followed by an online Q&A.
12:00-13:00 West Africa Time: Webinar 2, ‘Structuring commodity and trade finance in Africa: an expert guide’.
In this webinar, two seasoned experts of trade finance, Duarte Pedreira (Crown Agents) and Simon Cook (Sullivan & Worcester), will share their wisdom on structuring trade finance and commodity finance deals in Africa. The training will focus on why structuring is important, how it can be used to address the trade finance gap, and the key legal considerations. This will be followed by an online Q&A.
We do hope many of you will join us!
