ITFA Annual Conference, Budapest – Announcing the Speaker – Lucie Binova

The ITFA Board is delighted to announce that Ms. Lucie Binova, Hume Brophy, will be one of the speakers at this year’s ITFA Annual Conference in Budapest, Hungary.

Ms. Binova will be presenting the session titled “The Corridors of Power: how to lobby effectively in Brussels”.

The legislative landscape has become very complex, regulatory changes have been increasingly influencing the business and further challenges are lying ahead. ITFA has decided to take the necessary step to succeed in Brussels and make sure the policy makers and regulators understand well the interests represented by ITFA. This is the reason why ITFA has been cooperating with Hume Brophy.

Hume Brophy will guide you through the landscape of lobbying in the decision-making heart of Europe. You will be introduced to the principles of communication in Brussels and functioning of advocacy. You will learn how lobbyists work and how they can help. We will explain how to use different strategies and tools in the context of policy making and when to emphasize political, technical, or business-related arguments. You will understand what is essential for ITFA to succeed when talking to regulators, lawmakers and politicians in Europe. Last but not least, Hume Brophy will give a practical insight into the very successful cooperation with ITFA so far.

With more than 13 years’ experience in international and EU negotiation as well as implementation in financial services and private international law, Lucie specialises in EU public affairs and strategic and policy counselling at Hume Brophy, Public Affairs Consultancy. She advises clients in financial services, primarily in banking, market infrastructure and commodity trading.

Her previous roles include working as a diplomat for the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU, where she negotiated almost all the post-crisis legislation in financial markets. She also worked as a senior legal advisor in the International Department of Czech Ministry of Justice and Financial Markets Department of Ministry of Finance.

We look forward to welcoming Ms. Binova in Budapest, and we look forward to seeing you all very very soon.
