Pia Reyes
Pia is a Senior Underwriter at AIG in London, where she is currently based, joining the Trade Finance Insurance department in February 2021 and developing internally into Political Risk and Structured Finance 2 years later. Previously, she worked for Scotiabank Uruguay for 6 years within the Commercial Banking function supporting SME’s in their overall banking needs.
Pia has an aggregate 9 years of Transaction Banking Experience, through sales of trade finance and cash management solutions to SME’s in Uruguay and the Latin America region first, followed by her Underwriter Insurance roles in the London market supporting Financial Institutions who are financing trade gaps between large corporates. Through her role in the Governance Council of the Women in Transaction Banking and the Trade & Supply Chain Finance committees at BAFT, she is also committed to attracting new talent to the industry and empowering women professionals in the field to thrive in their banking roles.
Pia has earned an MBA from Hult International Business School in London, graduating with distinction, and also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Accounting Degree from the University of Montevideo in Uruguay.
