Lisa Varney
Lisa Varney is Head of Business Development, Americas, at Bondaval. In her 30 years of experience, she has served as an underwriter, broker and buyer of credit risk mitigation tools, which has given her a uniquely broad understanding of the market. At Bondaval, she is responsible for expanding the company’s footprint across the Americas, alongside seeking new applications for the business’ suite of credit risk mitigation products.
Previously, Lisa managed the Credit Risk Insurance program for the Wells Fargo Corporate and Investment Bank. Prior to that, she held senior roles in the Financial Institutions Groups at Marsh and WTW and led the Multibuyer Credit Insurance team at US ExIm Bank. She began her career in economic development, assisting emerging-market governments in privatizing state-owned-enterprises and obtaining foreign direct investment.
Lisa has been a member of the ITFA Americas Advisory Board since 2020 and currently serves as Vice-Chair.
Lisa holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Maine and a Masters Degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University.
