Ian Milne
Ian Milne currently serves as the Executive Director of Sales at MonetaGo. He is recognized as an industry veteran, boasting over 35 years of experience, with a particular focus on Structured Trade and Commodity Finance.
Ian began his career at Fortis Bank, working in their Trade & Commodity Finance Middle Office across London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, and Singapore. He later assumed the position of Global Head of Structured Trade & Commodity Finance transaction risk management at Standard Chartered Bank, before moving to a similar role at HSBC. Subsequently, he joined TransAsia, a niche Trade Finance Fund, as Director of Special Situations. Prior to his current role at MonetaGo, Ian served as the Head of Operations for the Trade & Commodity Finance business at Rabobank’s Singapore Branch.
Ian possesses a unique background and insight into cross-border fraud, having been responsible for investigations, restructuring, and recovery work on prominent cases globally over the past 25 years. He is frequently invited to speak at events on the pitfalls of commodity finance and shares lessons learned from past cases. Ian is passionate about leveraging his experience to benefit the industry and to help others understand the risks they face.
