Hernan Mayol

Hernan Mayol is a global banking executive with over 30 years of experience specializing in trade finance, working capital solutions, structured trade finance, risk mitigation, and global payments.

Hernan serves as the General Manager and Country Head for Banreservas USA, leading the U.S. operations of the largest financial institution in the Dominican Republic. In this role, he focuses on expanding international banking services, supporting trade finance initiatives, and strengthening cross-border relationships with corporate and institutional clients.

Previously, he served as the Export Finance Manager at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), where he focused on supporting SMEs in accessing trade finance solutions. He was also the Head of Financial Institutions at EIA Global, a trade credit insurance brokerage firm, and Managing Partner at Worldwide Financial Solutions, a global consulting firm. At Bank of America, he served as Head of Trade for Latin America, overseeing trade finance and corporate banking services, and later led Americas Asset Distribution, managing trade finance syndications and secondary market activities. He also held leadership roles at Wells Fargo (Florida Region Sales Executive), Wachovia (Structured Trade & Government Guarantee Programs), Regions Bank (Correspondent Banking), TD Bank (Commercial Banking), and Bladex (Product Management).

Hernan is a board member at ITFA, the world’s leading trade finance organization, where he has served for over 20 years in various capacities, including Americas Representative, Chair of the Americas Regional Committee, Fintech Liaison, and other strategic initiatives.

Beyond banking, Hernan is the founder of Apprentice Worldwide, a global mentoring network helping young professionals and entrepreneurs succeed. He holds an MBA and BBA in International Finance & Marketing from the University of Miami and has served as a speaker, adjunct professor, and mentor at institutions across the U.S., Europe, and Latin America.
