Bleming Nekati
Bleming Nekati has more than 20 years of senior-level, pan-African experience in Corporate & Investment Banking, Project Finance, Structured Trade & Commodity Finance, Development Finance, and Financial Advisory services. He currently holds the position of Head, Private Sector Operations at the African Development Bank (AfDB), with primary responsibilities covering the Bank’s lending and non-lending operations in Southern Africa region (13 countries). In addition to representing the AfDB as Director on some of its investee entities, his portfolio coverage on the Bank’s financial sector origination efforts extends to an additional 14 English-speaking countries across the African continent.
Prior to joining the AfDB, he held a series of senior positions including at board level, across sectors such as Investment Banking, Financial Advisory Services, ICT Services, Trade Finance and Academia in countries that include Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Bleming holds both under-graduate and post-graduate qualifications from a number of universities in South Africa, USA and Zimbabwe. He is an Associate of the Institute of Bankers in South Africa [CAIB (SA)] and has attended the Executive Development Programme at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT Sloan Business School).
