Blockchain and DLT in Trade white paper

The ITFA Board is pleased to share the “Blockchain and DLT in Trade: A Reality Check” white paper. This is a jointly produced white paper between the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Trade Finance Global (TFG). We thank our membership for their input into the white paper.

The “Digital Negotiable Instruments” initiative, which was launched at the ITFA annual meeting in September 2019, is defining market-level usage guidelines, document tags, rules, and legal opinions for those two negotiable instruments. More information on Enigio is provided on page 32 of the ICC / WTO / TFG report. Enigio, which was founded in 2012, has been working with ITFA to enable trading counterparties to move away from paper by relying on digital negotiable promissory notes and bills of exchange.

We invite ITFA members interested in the digitisation of bills of exchange and promissory notes to contact info@itfa.org.
