ADB Trade Finance Survey

ITFA has once again been invited to take part in a survey carried out as a joint initiative between ITFA and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The survey can be accessed by clicking here. Last year’s report based on 2013 survey results may also be accessed here.

Please note that the survey will run until 15 April 2015.

First of all, we take the opportunity to reiterate that any information provided will be kept in strictest confidence. Results will be presented on an aggregated level and will not be traceable to the individual responses you provide.

Secondly, we want to emphasise why such information is important. It will be used as a negotiation tool when discussing different topics with our regulators. Having such data at hand will assist us in convincing the regulators that they should listen to us, ITFA and Forfaiting professionals, when proposing the setting up of new rules for the international trade. Our opinion will only be given the desired attention if we are able to quantify our arguments, and provide meaningful statistics.  The results of this survey will be fed into reports and statistics to be presented to the very highest echelons of international policy and rule makers and represents a unique opportunity to boost the status and understanding of the importance of the forfaiting and the trade finance industry.

Finally, since this information will become official, it may also serve as a supplement to your individual arguments when negotiating necessary resources with your respective management.  The more meaningful information we can show to management, the more likely it is that our individual causes are supported.

Whilst we thank you in advance for taking the time to reply to this survey, please do not hesitate to contact your Regional Committee’s chair person or directly to Sean Edwards (sean_edwards@gb.smbcgroup.com) or Lorna Pillow (info@itfa.org) via mail. We will be happy to assist.
