Introducing the ITFA Conference Speakers – Peter Mulroy and Vinod Madhavan

With the ITFA 45th Annual Trade and Forfaiting Conference just around the corner, the ITFA Board is delighted to announce that Peter Mulroy from FCI and Vinod Madhavan from Standard Bank, will be heading one of the sessions in Cape Town, South Africa. This joint session is titled ”Supply Chain Finance – New Perspectives and New Solutions”.

Peter Mulroy is Secretary General of FCI, the world’s largest association of factoring companies, based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Prior to joining FCI, Peter was previously Managing Director with CIT in the U.S., a Fortune 500 financial services company and one of FCI’s original founding members. Peter also served on the Management Committee of CIT, supporting their global growth strategy. Peter came to CIT through the acquisition of the factoring division of SunTrust Bank, where he developed their international business. Peter is a past Chairman of FCI, and has served on the FCI Executive Committee for over a decade.

Peter received his Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University and MBA from Thunderbird, School of Global Management in the U.S. As Secretary General, Mr. Mulroy assists entrepreneurs, bankers, regulators and governments in educating the benefits and introducing the concept of factoring, a facilitator of liquidity and mitigator of risk for SMEs and Large Corporates in the open account, receivables finance space.

Vinod Madhavan is currently Group Head: Trade, Standard Bank. In this role he is responsible for Trade, one of the universal capabilities identified by Standard Bank, to be delivered across the Group. Thereby, allowing Standard Bank to show up as one universal financial services organization, wherever they are based and whichever client segment they are servicing.  He also has P&L responsibility for Trade across the Group.

With more than 20 years’ experience in commercial banking, Madhavan has worked with corporations and financial institutions to address their transaction banking and working capital financing needs in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Before joining Standard Bank, he worked for Standard Chartered, Citibank and Deutsche Bank. Madhavan’s career has spanned roles in operations, product management and sales positions operating from Singapore, India and South Africa. He is a member of the Advisory Board of ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) Banking Commission. He is also a member of BAFT-Global Trade Industry Council.

Mr. Madhavan holds a Bachelor degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, India, and did his post-graduate studies in business management at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, India. He holds an international cash management (ICM) certification from the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT), UK.
